REVENUES participants are talking about different numerical tools to analyse reinforced  slopes

Different numerical tools to analyse the vegetated reinforced slopes are discussed at BOKU. Two case studies are going to be taken into consideration. The first one is in Matzen in Lower Austria and the other in Doren in Vorarlberg. The original idea is to stabilize both slopes with soil nailing. Then a proposed alternative is to combine it with soil-bioengineering methods. The calculations for the slope stability are conducted by Michael Auer using Plaxis and then compared the results with those obtained from Comes-Geo conducted by Mrs. Barbara Switala and Dr. Roberto Tamagnini. The final result is expected to show how the occurance of a landslide can be delayed by the vegetation during heavy rainfalls.
